Tissot PRC200 Watch Review

July 8th, 2010

When you’re looking for a new watch, you want to be sure you’re getting a decent one right? There’s nothing worse than finding out some flaw or something that you didn’t know was there after you’be bought it. So I commend you on doing you research, lets look at the Tissot PRC200 Chronograph watch and see what’s good and what’s bad about it shall we?

Tissot PRC200 Dial:

Ok so the dial is really nice, made of sapphire crystal. This basically means that the dial isn;t going to scratch unless you get some diamond edged cutter or something. I’ve had my watch for about 6 years and it has a sapphire dial, not one scratch on it (and I fall over a lot!).

Watch Movement:

In regards to the movement used in the Tissot PRC200, it’s top of the line aswell. Swiss-quartz movement, a step above the Japanese-quartz means you’re not really going to be off by much at all.

Aesthetics:

In terms of looks I think this watch does really well. I’m fairly sure you can get it with a dark blue and black background for the dial. Either way works just as well with the white hands and markers contrasting well with the dark background. This makes for great visibility. As well as this the tachymetre also doesn’t clog up the design at all, as it;s been printed on a slightly raised portion of the dial it stands out well. Overall the dial is very open and clean looking, quite nice to look at isn’t it?

It’s also quite a large watch, very masculine. I like watches that are a little heavier than normal, makes them feel more substantial and weight has connotations of quality for me.

Possible flaw:

One of the flaws that some people report about this watch is the night illuminators. The hands charge with light in the day and glow for a while at night. Apparently the watch can take too long to charge up and so can be hard to read at night. May or may not be a big deal for you depending on what you want this watch for. If you’re a diver you’ll be pleased to note that it’s water resistant to 660 feet.

Tissot PRC200 Summary:

Overall the watch is great quality, all the best pieces at a pretty affordable price really. Of course it’s a smart idea to buy your next watch online and save heaps. Usually you can save about a hundred dollars on watches like these if you go through Amazon.

I really don’t understand how they’re able to beat everyone on price so conclusively, but they do and we are the winner’s right? Wherever you decide to buy it, the Tissot PRC200 Chronograph watch is a fantastic timepiece, suitable for casual or dressy occasions as well as for diving.
