Most women value their jewelry collection; after all they have spent years building their jewelry collection piece by piece trying to find rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces that complement each other and match their wardrobe. Often their collections are worth a valuable sum, even if they don’t all come from top of the line stores such as Tiffany & Co. Despite this fact however, many women do not care for their collections like they should. I am sure that we all know a woman that may have a fabulous jewelry collection, only to leave their jewelry languishing in a drawer or a series of small boxes bunched and tangled together. This is no way to treat jewelry that you want to last a lifetime.
Recently, I came across this very scenario with my own wife and it led me to the perfect gift that I could get her for her birthday, a wooden jewelry box. A wooden jewelry box is a great way for a woman to store her precious jewelry. Of course it didn’t have to be a wooden jewelry box. I could have chosen leather jewelry box or some other, however, I knew my wife’s taste and nothing would do except a quality wooden jewelry box that matched the rest of the décor in our bedroom.
Wooden jewelry boxes are not complex items to buy. In fact, it can be a relatively easy purchase if you already know what kind of home décor you are trying to match. In my case, our bedroom furniture was made of oak that was stained dark in color. Therefore, I began my search for an oak jewelry box that matched the rest of our furniture.
Some of the other considerations that I took into account when picking out a jewelry box was size. My wife had a considerably large jewelry collection so I knew that whatever I purchase had to have enough drawers and spaces to accommodate everything. Additionally, I considered the type of lining that the box had. Since she had a lot of quality pieces, I wanted to make sure that the lining was suede since my research indicated that this was the best type of lining for jewelry. I also considered getting a musical jewelry box, however, I decided against it since it seemed a little childish.
When I finally presented my wife with her birthday gift she was ecstatic. Even though it was not a difficult or time consuming purchase for me, she seemed to really appreciate the thought that went into the gift. Once she organized all of her jewelry in her new box, she continually marveled at how nice it was to have everything stored properly and available at her fingertips without have to hunt and peck for what she needed.
Getting a jewelry box for my wife was one of the best gift purchases that I have made during our 15 years of marriage and has definitely provided me with many brownie points. If you are struggling to find the perfect gift for your wife, mother or girl friend, let me suggest a jewelry box. It is a timeless gift that they will look at and enjoy for the rest of their lives and it will always make them think of you.
