But there are literally hidden treasures lesser known of. I talking about the beautiful and history-tied Hawaiian Jewelry. The jewelry that were popular among the royalties of the Hawaiian Kingdom. First a quick history lesson. The Hawaiian kingdom had long enjoyed a favorable diplomatic relationship with England. When the Hawaiian Queen Kapiolani and Princess Liliuokalani attended Queen Victoria’s Jubilee in 1887, at the Jubilee they were presented with solid gold bracelets, with their names cut out in Old English Lettering filled with black enamel. The Queen and the Princess were so enraptured with their unique gifts that they had similar bracelets made for other Royal members upon their return to Hawaii.

Today’s Traditional Hawaiian Jewelry still retains those intricate designs. But the type of jewelries have expanded to include rings, bracelets, pendants, and ear pierces. They are made usually from yellow gold and sterling silver with hand engraved scrolls and the popular Hawaiian flowers, hibiscus and plumeria, also Old English lettering in enamel or raised lettering. These heirloom jewelry are truly timeless pieces, that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Taking it a step further, there’s new fusion of design taking place, mixing traditional designs with new and trendy elements. Such as the modern and contempoary Hawaiian Jewelry collections from Luxygoods. The Hawaiian Jewelry we normally thought of has taken a whole new direction. With designs ranging from crosses, hearts, fishooks to skulls, decorated with different type of stone, such as diamond and onyx. Experimenting with different metals, such as platinum, white/pink golds and also black-coated sterling silver. But with all these new elements, the essence of Hawaiian Jewelry still can be felt in the meticulously hand engraving by our skillful artisans and jewelers. The labor of love and attention to details and the strive for perfection are easily seen in every single piece of jewelry the artisans brought to life.
